There's nothing worse than an airline frequent flyer program when it's tough to book awards travel, and respondents to this Frequent Business Traveler and FlyerTalk survey expressed frustration with Delta in this regard. The airline, which has been all over Facebook with its booking widgets, prides itself on its technology so it must be especially disappointing that road warriors expressed their frustrations with the SkyMiles awards calendar.
There's something for everyone to like in this contract, such as: The giant airline is going to kill regional partner flights in favor of Delta pilot-flown flights on hand-me-down Southwest planes.

Delta's Richard Anderson doubles down on baggage fees but also argues that the U.S.'s patchwork policies on taxation and flying rules keeps airlines from being as efficient as they would like to be.
Delta is testing what it takes to beat Spirit at the low fare game. How about promoting all the fees Sprit pushes? Oh right, Delta is hooked on those now, too.
The labor issues weren't a surprise, but Delta's decision to cut flights to Europe in favor of additional Caribbean capacity wasn't expected.

High fuel costs have airlines scrambling to cut costs. Delta attempts a new solution by buying a refinery of its own. Ironically, one that's an eyesore between PHL airport and Center City Philadelphia.
